DCAF Participates in the General Assembly of the UN Global Compact Network Switzerland and Liechtenstein

Bringing together over 120 representatives of companies, non-governmental organizations and academia, the 2024 General Assembly of the UN Global Compact Network Switzerland and Liechtenstein (UNGC CH&L) was hosted in Zurich and offered an important opportunity for DCAF to:

• Promote guidance tools, including DCAF-ICRC Partnership products.
• Engage with a range of Swiss companies facing security and human rights challenges in fragile contexts (especially medium-sized Swiss companies and those coming from beyond the extractive sector).
• Network with stakeholders to promote DCAF’s in-country implementation projects, such as in the Democratic Republic of Congo, from which many Swiss companies are sourcing critical minerals.
• Identify further entry points for promoting the Compact’s Ten Principles.

The UNGC CH&L is the country network of the New York-based United Nations Global Compact. The network promotes responsible business practices by stimulating multi-stakeholder dialogue, providing knowledge, tools and mutual learning for businesses in Switzerland and Liechtenstein to engage in corporate responsibility and sustainability.
