The DCAF-ICRC Partnership has submitted a response to the call for input on the draft Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Mining Standard.

This standard covers a range of topics such as human rights, labor practices, environmental impact, community engagement, and governance. The ICRC and DCAF's submission focuses on security and human rights, emphasizing the need for mining companies to report on their practices, especially in conflict-affected areas with high risk of abuses.

As transparency and accountability are increasingly demanded, it is essential that companies in the mining sector take concrete steps to ensure their security arrangements are managed in a way that reduces risks to communities.
