UN Security Sector Reform Intergrated Technical Guidance Notes (ITGN, 2016)

Description

The ITGNs provide SSR guidance to UN personnel in the field and at Headquarters. They also represent a platform from which the UN can launch joint initiatives with partners, including Member States, multilateral and regional organizations and partners in the private and public sector. The six main sections of the document cover the following topics:

1. UN approach to SSR;
2. National ownership;
3. Gender;
4. Peace processes;
5. Democratic governance and
6. Policies and strategies.
