Launch of the Security and Human Rights Grant 2019

On October 10th 2019, the Security and Human Rights Implementation Mechanism (SHRIM) announced the second edition of its Security and Human Rights Grant, in acknowledgement of the important role that local organisations play in the dialogue on business and security sector reform and governance, as well as in the implementation of security and human rights in their country.

The Security and Human Rights Grant will award a maximum of CHF 30’000 (each) to two to three innovative projects coming from local organizations based in the Global South that are seeking to support the implementation of security and human rights good practices linked to the operations of extractive or private security companies.

For this edition of the Grant applicants must focus on one or more of the following topics:

  • Gender, Security and Human Rights;
  • Human Rights Defenders and Security;
  • Media as a tool to promote dialogue towards better security and human rights implementation.
