The EITI Standard

The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) is a global standard promoting the open and accountable management and governance of oil, gas and mineral resources.

To address the key governance issues in the extractive sectors, the EITI has developed this standard. Although the primary user of the EITI Standards is governments, it is, directly and indirectly, relevant to companies as well to ensure the transparency and accountability of revenues.

The Standard is composed of two parts. Part I deals with the implementation of the Standard and part II deals with the governance and management of the international EITI.
