DCAF and ICRC participation in the 2023 Voluntary Principles Initiative (VPI) Annual Plenary Meeting

From 22-26 May, DCAF and ICRC will attend the VPI’s Annual Plenary meeting, the main decision-making body of the VPI, the multi-stakeholder initiative promoting the implementation of the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights. As Permanent Observers of the VPI, DCAF and ICRC will actively engage to promote collaborative efforts in responsible security management in the extractive sector. During the meeting, the DCAF-ICRC Partnership will share their expertise on promoting best practices in implementation of the Voluntary Principles and DCAF will share results and lessons learned from a range of in-country projects supported through the Security and Human Rights Implementation Mechanism (SHRIM). We look forward to exploring opportunities for collaboration with other stakeholders, including governments, companies, and civil society organizations.
