This report outlines the outcomes and conclusions drawn from a pilot project testing the benefits of grievance mechanisms that are aligned with the ‘Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights’. Two of the pilot projects involved companies in the extractive industries:

  1. Cerrejon Coal (mining sector, Colombia) and
  2. Sakhalin II (oil and gas sector, Russia).

The report highlights the key challenges, findings and lessons learned by the companies testing the principles of effective grievance mechanisms.
